The Journey to a Cloud-native, Software-defined RAN Architecture

Looking beyond traditional RAN, a fully virtualized, software-defined architecture allows providers to deploy new services or upgrade existing services easily and quickly as new solutions become available. This approach allows communications operators—both large and small—to select the right combination of interoperable systems and services from a wide range of vendors to meet their customers’ needs. Networks based on general purpose processors (GPP) and virtualization have enabled this new approach to Cellular Network delivery referred to as vRAN and embraced in Open RAN architecture and specifications.

This webinar will explore the industry’s ongoing journey towards software-defined RAN architectures, the benefits of ecosystem diversity in vRAN and Open RAN, and GPPs’ critical role as both an open innovation platform and an engine for driving continuous gains in RAN performance and power efficiency.
