Code Rebel (www.coderebel.com), an enterprise software company that develops, licenses, and supports software designed for cross-platform enterprise security and productivity, has released the results of a survey that demonstrates how enterprises are reaping rewards from Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) strategies, even as IT staffs wrestle with how to manage growing end-point complexity. In a survey of over 150 technology decision-makers across industry sectors — conducted by independent reporting agency, BizTechReports (www.biztechreports.com) — a vast majority of respondents reported improvements in employee productivity (90.79%), employee satisfaction (83.01%), customer service (80.13%), team collaboration (78.95%), enterprise innovation (78.43%), and overall corporate competitiveness (68.12%). The survey also reveals that end-user choice over devices used for work is not limited to smart phones and tablets. While 84.31% of respondents report offering smart phone choice to employees – and 73.86% supporting BYOD programs for tablets – the survey shows that 74.86% of enterprises also offer similar support for laptops, with 50.66% of respondents extending their BYOD programs to the desktop platform. One of the most striking findings in the survey is the growing profile of Apple’s Mac OS platform in the enterprise environment. Well over half of respondents (63.82%) report a rising presence of Mac laptops and desktops in their organizations over the past year, with 64.71% expecting to see this trend continue or accelerate over next 12-18 months.
