Aberdeen Group's Chief Supply Chain Officer (CSCO) Survey (June 2012) collected data from 187 companies. That study revealed, over the past 12 months, the supply chain is both more global (85% of companies operate internationally) and more complex. There is a significant increase in the number of parties (suppliers, customers, carriers, and countries) that must collaborate in this new environment. In August 2012 they completed a follow-up survey with 96 transportation executives. That survey reinforces the premise that increased global complexity combined with the increased multi-party interactions (suppliers, customers, carriers, and countries) is changing the importance of collaborative execution. Specifically this study shows cloud-based collaborative transportation and multi-party control tower solutions have evolved / matured to meet the growing need. It examines the key technological solutions that are being adopted by transportation executives and correlates key capabilities to Best-in-Class transportation performance. Request Free! |
