The family of USB specifications now includes three speeds of USB 2.0 (1.5, 12, and 480 Mb/s), wireless
USB, and the new 5 Gb/s USB 3.0, each with its own compliance test specification. A number of the tests are common across the variants, but as data rates increase, so do the requirements for more thorough testing of high-speed phenomena. For example, RF effects need to be considered when validating the high-speed mode of USB 2.0 and for USB 3.0.
