The mental health solution the American workforce needs right now

The last few years have fundamentally affected the conversation around workplace mental health in the US. Back in April 2020, feelings of anxiety and stress were prevalent among the American workforce, with 27% of employees self-reporting a high mental health risk, and 46% reporting a moderate mental health risk.1

By June 2023, the population experiencing high and moderate mental health risks was still considerably elevated, sitting at 23%, and 42% respectively.2  While this indicates that progress on mental health has been incremental at best, many working Americans are still struggling three years later.

As more people are likely looking to the workplace as a major source of health and wellbeing support, it’s imperative for employers to rethink the mental health care they provide to their people.

Fortunately, solutions such as employee assistance programs (EAPs), are evolving to make care even more accessible, more personalized, and more holistic. New employee mental health solutions that build on EAPs to offer expansive and continuous care are designed to help today's workforce thrive.
