Between April and May 2012, Aberdeen surveyed and reached out to over 60 executives in the financial services and banking industry to understand the impact of tumultuous economic times and increased regulatory oversight on the banking community. More specifically, how the "new normal" characterized by a tight credit, low liquidity environment has impacted banks, and what are some of the strategic actions being undertaken to ensure adherence to higher capital reserve requirements as outlined by the Basel accord, while still meeting their customer's banking needs. This study, comprising of 71% private domestic banks and 29% mix of state-owned and foreign banks, aims to address these questions and uncover some of the upcoming technologies which are being leveraged in the retail banking space. This study will conclude with a discussion of upcoming trends in the mobile banking space and key takeaways for the banking industry. Request Free! |
