In this edition of A Closer Look, we review the recently finalized changes issued by the SEC to the disclosure rules in Regulation S-K related to financial data. The new rules are effective as of Feb. 10, 2021, and the most significant changes include:
- Selected Financial Data: Eliminate the table of selected balance sheet and income statement line items for each of the last five years.
- Supplementary Financial Data: Eliminate the table of selected quarterly information for each quarter for the most recent two years.
- Contractual Obligations: Eliminate the tabular presentation of contractual payments grouped by due dates, previously required in MD&A.
