Our research has revealed that a part of the Internet, the so called Dark Web, enables criminals and terrorists to communicate in absolute anonymity through highly encrypted Email, Instant Messaging, and even entirely untraceable VOIP-calls. During these calls, both parties remain unidentifiable and their actual geo-location undeterminable. Due to the anonymity it provides, the Dark Web is mainly used for criminal activities, a list of which we will outline in this paper. |
