Over the last few months, we have continued to see unparalleled levels of uncertainty across the U.S. economy and business community. We conducted a follow-up survey of private companies in New England to determine how the impact of COVID-19 has shifted since June, and gauge how local financial leaders are currently responding to the pandemic. Key insights include:
- 83% Anticipate allowing more staff to work remotely post-pandemic
- 80% Have an overall positive or neutral feeling about the business economic outlook for 2021
- Loss of revenue (67%, –12%) and employee safety (56%, –3%) remain the top two concerns
- 56% Saw a decrease in sales (+6%)
