In 2016, data and analytics leader IHS Markit realized it needed the global reach and scalability of the public cloud to further its business goals, which include serving more clients worldwide with increasingly complex data security requirements. To support a recent acquisition, IHS Markit adopted VMware Cloud on AWS as the foundation for a global hybrid cloud to accelerate time-to-market for services, while addressing heightened security and data localization rules.
